We welcome those who may not be naturally strong or flexible and may not feel comfortable in a Yoga class or Studio at first. We welcome those who choose to practice at Hometown Yoga Lambertville because they are inspired by and trust our teachers and/or they want to support local teachers and their own community, and they feel better each time they leave.
Class Descriptions
Hatha
A basic to intermediate practice that incorporates poses (asanas), alignment principles, breathing techniques and relaxation. Appropriate for all levels from beginners to advanced.
Yin
A meditative practice that uses long-held poses on the floor, with the wall or props to release fascia or connective tissue, including tendons and ligaments. Brings a sense of deep relaxation and peace of mind. Appropriate for all levels.
Slow Flow/Morning Flow
This is a softer, gentler approach to a Hatha yoga practice. Appropriate for all levels, including beginners and seniors, who can get up and down from the floor without assistance.
With Meditation:
Gentle Hatha Yoga with the added benefit of a brief meditation practice at the end of class
Flow
A fluid, strong practice that incorporates more challenging poses as well as more complex sequencing. This class includes sun salutations and sometimes inversions and/or arm balances. This class is suitable for those who are physically fit and have some yoga experience or basic understanding of yoga.
Pilates Mat & Yoga Fusion
Combines the core strengthening exercises of a Pilates Mat class with the flexibility and mobility poses of Hatha or Vinyasa. All levels are welcome.
Restorative
This class encourages deep physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Appropriate for all levels, restorative yoga is practiced by holding poses for several minutes with the use of props. The focus is on stillness and deep breathing.
Beginner Yoga /Hatha Basics
This class is designed for those new to Yoga, those who need a refresher or those who have a "beginner's mindset". Learn the basic principles of the practice - the breath, the shape, the alignment, and the intention.
